McAllen police ask for help in finding man charged with injury to a child

The McAllen Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a 31-year-old man wanted on a warrant for injury to a child.

In a news release, police identified Oscar Torres as a suspect in an assault involving family members that happened at 9:35 p.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of S. 29th Street.

Torres stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He is of medium complexion and has a goatee.

Police say he is possibly driving a blue 2011 Ford F-150 single cab pickup. His last known address is in the 3400 block of Balboa Avenue.

“The investigation into this incident remains ongoing and may result in additional charges,” the release stated.

Anyone with information on Torres’ whereabouts is urged to call McAllen Crime Stoppers at (956) 687-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tipsters can also submit information through the smartphone application P3 TIPS.

“If the information leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward,” the release stated.
