Students at Kenmont Montessori School this week have been interpreting life through poetry during Extravaganza 2023 presented by the Kenmont Poet’s Society.

Students from lower elementary through eighth grade read and interpreted 13 poems, including by Robert Lewis Stevenson, Bob Dylan, Maya Angelou, Walt Whitman and others, with musical accompaniment and in three languages: English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

The show ended with Shakespeare’s “Seven Ages of Man.”

It was produced by Arts Director Leticia Chapa, with assistance from teachers Ade Leal in Spanish and Teresa Wang in Mandarin. Shows took place over three evenings in the Kenmont gymnasium.
