Complimentary coffee and donuts will be offered during the open house. In addition, attendees can enter a drawing to win a 10-inch Amazon Fire tablet.

The event follows the recent announcement that home delivery and single-copy sales of the Monday and Tuesday print editions will end May 1 for these three publications.

Seven editions will be published weekly, as e-editions will remain available Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday through Saturday, editions will be delivered — and offered digitally.

“(W)hile we could have made the decision to continue incurring the rising cost of paper delivery Mondays and Tuesdays, we are committed to passing the savings down to our newsrooms to maintain our journalism in the communities we love,” AIM Media Texas Publisher Stephan Wingert wrote in an April 9 letter to readers.

Visit the newspaper offices at The Brownsville Herald, 222 N. Expressway 77 (Venture X) in Brownsville; The Monitor,1400 E. Nolana Ave. in McAllen; and Valley Morning Star, 1906 E. Tyler, Suite D, in Harlingen.
