SAN JUAN — On a cold, wet morning at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of San Juan, Bishop Daniel E. Flores stood among parishioners who gathered in large numbers to observe Good Friday: “I found, even more this year, that people have a sense that they need to turn to God and to the Lord Jesus in their own lives more closely.
“People worry a lot and they pray a lot, and they hope for the best for their children. And I think that’s one of the things that preoccupies a lot of people.”
