Early Monday morning crash leaves McAllen man dead

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating an early Monday morning fatal crash that left one dead after they veered into the wrong lane “for unknown reasons” and crashed into another vehicle, according to a release.

McAllen resident Agustin Arcos Garcia, 50, was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

According to DPS, the crash happened at approximately 12:23 a.m. on Monday in Edinburg.

A silver 2004 Buick Regal was traveling southbound on Dillon Road, and a gray 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound on Dillon Road, approaching Alberta Road.

“For unknown reasons” the driver of the Buick, later identified as Garcia, veered into the northbound lane and crashed into the Silverado, according to the release.

DPS says the agency is further investigating the fatal crash.
