Raymondville police search for shooting suspect that left one injured

The Raymondville Police Department continues to investigate a shooting that left one man injured and are looking for the alleged suspect.

The shooting happened at about 1:35 a.m. Thursday where officers responded to the 300 block of West Yturria Avenue in reference to shots fired, the police department posted on its Facebook page.

Officers arriving at the scene found a man with a gunshot wound to his right leg, the post read.

According to the police department post, the shooting victim identified the man who had shot him.

He said the man was driving by his block and wanted to “pick a fight.” The victim said the man fired several rounds toward him.

The post said the suspect was with another man who he “also shot in the line of fire accidentally.”

Police urge anyone with information on the shooting or the man accused in it to contact the Raymondville Police Department at (956) 689-2441.

“Subject is considered armed and dangerous. Do not attempt to apprehend yourself. Contact your local law enforcement agency or call 911,” the posting stated.
