SAN BENITO — A police officer may be at fault in a two-car crash after which a woman was taken to a hospital, officials said March 24.
Police are investigating whether the officer driving a Ford Explorer may have caused the crash involving an SUV at the intersection of Sam Houston Boulevard and Robertson Street at about 3 p.m. March 20, officials said.
“Preliminary findings show the officer was at fault, but the case is still under investigation,” David Favila, the city’s spokesman, said. “A female was transported to a hospital for evaluation.”
The woman was the SUV’s lone occupant, Police Chief Mario Perea said.
Meanwhile, he declined to disclose the names of the officer and the woman taken to the hospital.
