The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 17-year-old man on Monday morning for the fatal March 14 shooting in Cameron Park.
In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office said Juan Carlos Alvarez has been charged for the murder of Andrew Lee Torres.
The sheriff’s office previously said deputies responded to a call of shots fired and a vehicle crash when they found Torres, who is believed to be in his 20s, dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
“It appears that an altercation occurred in the vehicle with an unidentified passenger,” the sheriff’s office said.
As of early Monday afternoon, a bond had not yet been set for Alvarez.
