Edinburg woman who was not wearing seatbelt dies in crash

A 45-year-old Edinburg woman who was not wearing a seatbelt died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash.

In a news release, the city of Edinburg said police responded to the 4900 block of S. 25th Ave. and observed two women had been ejected from the vehicle.

“Both parties were not wearing their seatbelts,” the news release stated.

The driver was a 20-year-old woman and the 45-year-old woman who died was her passenger.

The driver was taken to a hospital.

Police are actively investigating the case.
