An 18-year-old Pharr resident was arrested after allegedly shooting at a vehicle that had two children in the back passenger seats.

Marc Anthony Garcia was charged with four counts of deadly conduct with a firearm.

Police arrived in the 2900 block North Raul Longoria Road in San Juan on Feb. 9 at around 7:40 a.m. for a drive-by shooting, according to an affidavit.

At the scene, Milan Arellano told police that her husband had been driving their vehicle, a red Audi passenger car, with their two children when the driver of a tan Chevrolet Tahoe, later identified as Garcia, pointed a handgun at the vehicle and shot at it five times, the affidavit said.

Arellano also explained that she noticed there were two female passengers in the Tahoe when the incident occurred.

During their investigation, authorities found four spent brass .45 caliber casings in the middle of the road, according to the affidavit.

Police presented Arellano and her husband with a photo line-up in which they identified Garcia as the man who shot at their vehicle.

Police also arrested two female San Juan residents, aged 17 and 18. The teenagers told police that Garcia drove off toward Donna after shooting at the Audi where he later left the vehicle at a friend’s house.

Garcia was booked on Feb. 14 and released four days later on a total bond of $20,000.
