A 34-year-old Mission man on Friday admitted to possessing more than 100 videos of children aged 3 to 12 engaged in sex with adults.
Esteban Luna Caudillo pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography during the hearing, court records show.
As part of his plea, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas said in a news release that he confessed to receiving files containing child sexual abuse material from May 10, 2019, through May 18, 2022, by using an online-based cloud storage account.
Federal authorities began investigating after the Texas Department of Public Safety on May 18 contacted Homeland Security Investigations about Luna Caudillo, who had been in their custody.
A criminal complaint said Luna Caudillo provided his phone to special agents, who found the videos.
He faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years at the time of his sentencing, according to the news release.
Luna Caudillo remains in custody.
