Man struck by vehicle, killed on Texas Boulevard in Weslaco

Weslaco police said Saturday that a 46-year-old man who was possibly intoxicated died Friday night after being hit by a vehicle.

In a news release, police said officers responded to the 2100 block of North Texas Boulevard at around 9 p.m. after receiving multiple calls about a man being hit by a vehicle.

The department identified the man as Sie Garcia, who died from his injuries at a hospital.

“During the preliminary investigation of the accident, it was determined that the subject hit may have been intoxicated,” the release stated. “Family members of the injured male arrived at the crash scene. They informed officers they had been looking for the male injured throughout the day.”

The driver who hit Garcia remained at the scene, according to the news release.
