The Oct. 31 deadline to pay your property taxes early in Cameron County to receive that 3% discount is fast approaching.
Tony Yzaguirre Jr., tax assessor and collector for Cameron County, is encouraging property owners to pay their taxes by the end of October to get that discount.
There will be a 2% discount in you pay your property taxes in November and a 1% discount if you pay them in December. There will not be a discount if you pay them in January.
Taxes for 2022 are due at the end of January. They become delinquent Feb. 1
If a taxpayer didn’t receive their consolidated 2022 tax statement, they can view it online at www.cameroncountytax.org or should contact the Tax Office immediately at (956) 544-0800.
Taxes can be paid over the internet, by mail or in person at one of the nine county taxes located throughout Cameron County.

>> Harlingen Drive-Thru: 300 E. Van Buren.
>> San Benito Branch Office: 1390 W. Expressway 83.
>> San Benito Drive-Thru: 199 S. Sam Houston.
>> Los Fresnos Branch Office: 745 W. Ocean Blvd.
>> Port Isabel Branch Office: 505 Highway 100.
>> La Feria Branch Office: 200 Industrial Way.
>> Rio Hondo Branch Office: 125 W. Colorado
They may also be paid at the seven Lone Star Bank offices in the county, but you must bring your 2022 tax statement with you if you want to pay your taxes at the bank locations.
