The circus is coming to town, and here’s your chance to see elephants, camels, acrobats, and clowns.

The Carden International Circus is bringing back the Spectacular Circus for four performances at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show Grounds in Mercedes, Nov. 12-13.

Thrills and excitement will fill three rings with acrobats, aerialists, animals, daredevils, and clowns.

The Carden family celebrates almost 60 years of presenting the circus tradition to audiences across the U.S.

This year features a new generation of circus performers from across the globe, circus officials said in a media release.

The two-hour performances include watching contortionists bend and twist in extreme ways, acrobats tumble and spin through the air and daredevils defy the laws of physics.

A herd of Asian elephants will lead the charge with their enormous grace, intelligence, and strength guided by Florin, a first-generation elephant trainer and multi-generation circus performer, according to the media release.

Horses and camels will dance in unison and dogs will leap through the air as if they have wings. Visitors can also enjoy the “dancing bears” and other surprises throughout the spectacle.

Doors open one hour before show time for the Preshow Festivities, including performer meet and greets, animal rides, fun activities, and so much more.

Performances on Nov. 12 will be at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Nov. 13 performances will be at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

General Admission tickets are $10 for children 12 & under, adult tickets are $25.

Tickets are on sale now at www.spectacularcircus.com or one hour before show time at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show Grounds, 1000 North Texas Ave., in Mercedes.
