The Donna Police Department arrested a Pharr man who confessed to killing a woman whose body was found in an open parking lot on Saturday, according to a news release police sent Tuesday.
Police arrested Andrew Stephen Scavnicky, 51, after authorities say he confessed during an interview with Donna investigators to the murder of 43-year-old Monica Coronado DeLeon.
Authorities say DeLeon’s body was found in the 1000 block of West Frontage Road this weekend.
Since the investigation remains ongoing, few details about the case were released.
Scavnicky is expected to appear before a Donna Municipal Court judge sometime Tuesday.
