McAllen police looking for man who broke into residence, assaulted someone

The McAllen Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 43-year-old man accused of breaking into a residence and assaulting someone.

In a news release issued Monday, police said they are looking for Francisco Rodriguez-Acatitlan, who is wanted on warrants for burglary of a habitation and harassment.

The incident happened about two weeks ago, on July 16, at approximately 10:04 p.m. at a home in the 800 block of N. 24th Street.

“Officers on scene determined subject had forcefully entered the residence and assaulted the victim,” the news release said.

McAllen police did not disclose the identity or gender of the alleged victim.

Rodriguez-Acatitlan is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information about his location is urged to call McAllen Crime Stoppers at (956) 687-8477. Anonymous tipsters can also submit information through the smartphone application P3 Tips.

Information leading to an arrest may result in a cash reward, according to police.
