The City of Harlingen and HCISD will hold a public safety conference Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Harlingen Convention Center, 701 Harlingen Heights Drive.

Local experts will discuss current topics of importance such as school safety, mental health, community safety, emergency first aid, COVID-19, cyber bullying and hurricane preparedness.

Speakers will include Harlingen Mayor Norma Sepulveda, HCISD Superintendent Dr. Alicia Noyola and Harlingen Police Chief Michael Kester.

The half-day conference is free and open to the public.

The event will break out into topic-driven sessions after a short opening ceremony.
