HARLINGEN — Express Employment Professionals will mark the expansion of its Harlingen office and the opening of a new location in Weslaco this week.

The firm supplies staffing services to more than 300 employers and as of last year employed nearly 3,500 Valley residents.

The average hourly wage was $10.52, up $1 from the previous year, company officials said.

“As the industry’s premier staffing solutions partner, our goal is to provide hope for our community in finding employment, and solutions for our business clients as they staff their companies,” said company executive Nancy Reed.

The Reeds’ franchise territory covers Cameron County, the lower portion of Hidalgo County, including Mercedes, Edcouch and a part of Weslaco and Donna.

The business started in 2006 with the Brownsville office. In 2007, a small office opened in Harlingen. The Harlingen team moved to its 3,500-square-foot facility in March 2020. The Weslaco office opened last month.

Job seekers and employers are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremonies scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Harlingen and Friday at 10 a.m. in Weslaco.

The Harlingen office is located at 1907 E. Tyler Ave.

The Weslaco office is located at 502 E. Expressway 83, Suite E.
