A Donna man was arrested by the McAllen Police Department for allegedly threatening to expose his ex-girlfriend’s nude photos and videos.
Marvin Meraz was charged with publishing or threatening to publish intimate visual material and was booked last Saturday.
The photos and videos were taken when she was asleep, according to a criminal complaint. The existence of the images was discovered after Meraz sent them to the victim’s current boyfriend’s Facebook page
The ex-girlfriend reported Meraz to the police on August 7, 2020, after he shared nude photos of her without her consent to another ex-boyfriend and her current boyfriend from his Facebook profile, the complaint read.
Investigators learned that Meraz sent photos and videos of the woman’s naked breasts, buttocks and vagina to her current boyfriend on Aug. 22, in which one video showed Meraz in the background as the two laid together while she slept and another video where her face can be seen as Meraz exposed her breasts.
One detective attempted to contact Meraz by phone but he was uncooperative and hung up on the detective which prompted him to leave a voicemail to which Meraz ignored, the document shows.
Meraz remains jailed on $10,000 in bonds.
