The city of Pharr and the Texas General Land Office are reminding residents throughout the Rio Grande Valley that there is still funding available to help those impacted by the 2018-2019 floods.

In a news release Tuesday, the city of Pharr announced that residents can still apply for funding through the Homeowners Assistance and Reimbursement Programs (HARP).

“This funding is important to help those affected by flooding in our community,” Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez said in the release. “If you had to make repairs to your home or are still living with the aftermath, please contact the GLO to start your application process today.

“We want to make sure everyone gets the help they need before the funding runs out.”

Qualifying residents are eligible to receive up to $50,000 through HARP. The program covers repairs or full reconstruction of primary residences, including repayments of eligible out-of-pocket repair costs.

Funding is available on a first come, first serve basis and is open to anyone living in Hidalgo, Cameron and Willacy counties. Applications can be submitted online by visiting recovery.texas.gov/harp or calling 1-844-893-8937.
