A McAllen attorney has been elected to the American Association for Justice to serve as a Texas delegate to the organization’s Board of Governors.
Julian C. Gomez holds one of two seats for Texas and will serve a three-year term after being elected during the American Association for Justice’s 2021 Annual Convention, his office said in a news release Monday.
The organization is formerly known as the Association of Trial Attorneys of America and was established in 1946 to bolster the civil justice system, preserve the right to trial by jury and to protect access to the courts for people who have been wrongfully injured, the release stated.
“It is an honor to even be considered. I am proud to be from South Texas and do not take this responsibility lightly,” Gomez said in the release. “I look forward to this opportunity, to making South Texas proud, and to using the law and hard work to make people’s lives better when they need us most.”
Gomez represents people and families who have suffered personal injury or wrongful death from car crashes, truck wrecks, 18-wheeler crashes, work-place injuries and other types of injuries.
The news release stated the American Association for Justice is the world’s largest plaintiff trial bar and its members represent people in consumer cases, personal injury actions, product liability cases, employment rights cases and other civil actions.
“Throughout its more than seventy-year history, AAJ has served as a leading advocate for the right of all Americans to seek legal recourse for wrongful conduct and protect the civil justice system,” the release stated.
