Harlingen Police say a woman was struck and killed be a vehicle on one of the city’s busiest streets around 7:30 a.m Monday.
Police say the auto pedestrian accident happened on the 2300 block of Business 77 near the intersection of Ed Carey Drive.
According to a news release, officers say when they arrived they found the woman dead on the road. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody. Neither of them has been identified.
As of 1 p.m. 7he section of road remained closed for more than five hours.
“In cases such as this one investigators take their time as they are mapping out points,” said HPD Sgt. Larry Moore.
