ERCOT asks residents to conserve electricity

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas is asking residents to throttle their electricity use over the next few days as cold weather sweeps across the state, according to a news release from Brownsville Public Utilities.

ERCOT is seeing high electric demand mixed with issues generating power due to the frigid temperatures, the release states. As such, customers are asked to reduce their usage from Feb. 14 through Feb. 16.
