Fifteen more deaths due to COVID-19 were confirmed in Hidalgo County on Tuesday, along with 671 new cases of the disease.
The death toll is now 2,516, according to a county release, while the total case count stands at 69,257.
Of the new cases, there are 348 confirmed, 322 probable and one suspected.
Also on Tuesday, 776 people were reported to have recovered from the virus, according to county officials, leaving 2,303 active cases in the county. So far, 64,438 people have recovered from COVID-19.
Additionally, there are currently 370 people fighting the virus in local hospitals, of which 151 are in intensive care units.
