10 more virus deaths in Hidalgo Co., 471 in hospitals

624 new cases confirmed

Ten more deaths linked to COVID-19 were confirmed in Hidalgo County on Tuesday, raising the death toll to 2,386 as hospitalizations continue to rise.

County officials also reported 624 new cases in a news release. There have now been a total of 61,595 positive virus cases in the county.

Of the new cases, 268 are confirmed, 355 probable, and one suspected.

Additionally, there are currently 471 people fighting the virus in local hospitals, of which 191 are in intensive care units. This is up from 434 reported Monday.

Also on Tuesday, 694 people were released from isolation, adding to the 57,221 people who have recovered from COVID-19 in the county.
