Weslaco police are investigating a single-vehicle crash at the Knapp Medical Center Emergency Room after a stabbing victim drove themselves into the local hospital Wednesday night.
According to a release from Weslaco police, 23-year-old Devin Rodriguez drove his blue Chevrolet Colorado truck into the ER located at 1404 East 8th Street at about 9:18 p.m.
Once at the scene, officers found that Rodriguez was suffering from a stab wound and was given life-saving treatment by the Knapp Medical staff.
As information began to develop, the criminal investigation division was called to take over the investigation which resulted in the detention of a suspect, according to the release.
“Through diligent police work, the Weslaco Police Department was able to identify a suspect who is currently detained,” the release said.
