The deadline to have their name on the ballot has come for individuals looking to run for a position on the Brownsville City Commission for the upcoming General Election.
The election will take place on May 1 and the positions that are up for reelection are Commissioner At-Large B, Commissioner District3andCommissioner District 4.
The candidates for Commissioner At-Large B are the following:
➤ Incumbent Rose M. Gowen
➤ Yuri Peña
➤ Erasmo Castro
The candidates for Commissioner District 3 are the following:
➤ Jessica Puente Bradshaw
➤ Roy De los Santos
➤ Carlos A. Elizondo
The candidates for Commissioner District 4 are the following:
➤ Pedro Cardenas
➤ Joe Valdez
➤ Incumbent Ben Neece
➤ Alberto “Beto” Velez
City Commissioner Joel Munguia is currently the incumbent for Commissioner District 3 and will not be seeking reelection. As of press time, Munguia did not respond to The Herald’s request for comment.
