10 more virus deaths in Cameron County

Ten more Cameron County residents have died from COVID-19 related causes, the county health department said Tuesday.

This raises the total number of coronavirus-related deaths here to 606, Cameron County Public Health said in a statement.

The individuals ranged from 59-year-old woman in Harlingen 101-year-old woman in Brownsville.

Also Tuesday, the health department said it has confirmed 171 additional COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of cases in Cameron County to 21,211.

The new cases include 12 children ages 9 and younger, 19 people ages 10 to 19, 27 people in their 20s, 31 people in their 30s, 24 people in their 40s, 28 people in their 50s, 16 people in their 60s, 12 people in their 70s, one person in his 80s and one woman in her 90s.

There have also been an additional 415 individuals who have recovered, raising the total number of recovered individuals to 15,433.
