Additional county employees test positive for COVID-19

Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino Jr. announced Friday that 28 county employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

The employees worked at the following departments:

>> 3 – County Clerks Office

>> 1 – District Clerks Office

>> 1 – Auditors Office

>> 7 – Adult Probation Dept.

>> 1 – Sheriff’s Dept.

>> 1 – Constable Pct. 3 Office

>> 1 – Constable Pct. 5 Office

>> 1 – Constable Pct. 1 Office

>> 1 – 138th state District Court

>> 1 – Law Library

>> 2 – Public Health Dept.

>> 1 – Elections Dept.

>> 3 – Juvenile Dept.

>> 1 – Parks System

>> 1 – Bridge System

>> 1 – Public Works Pct. 2

>> 1 – Tax Assessor-Collectors Office

Due to privacy laws, not other information will be released about the employees.

Officials said the Public Health Department is working closely with elected officials and department heads to continue taking the appropriate steps to keep employees and the public safe. Constituents are asked to continue to conduct business online at the county’s website.
