School district to provide update on Re-Imagine 2012

SAN BENITO — The community will have an opportunity tonight to hear the latest on the school district’s plans and goals for the next five years.

The Re-Imagine 2012 plan has been in the works since early April, with school staff, teachers, parents, students and business leaders contributing to a draft plan.

Superintendent Adrian Vega will provide an update on the plan at a school board meeting tonight. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the administration board room at 240 N. Crockett St.

A final copy of the plan is expected to be sent to the school board for final approval in July.

According to the draft, the mission of the school district is to provide an education that prepares students for college, careers and the workforce.

The plan covers curriculum, facilities, finances and communications. The district says the goal is to provide the gold standard in public education.

Officials have said that as drafts go, the plan can still be changed.
