Zoo Nights and Lights scheduled for this weekend

The Gladys Porter Zoo will be hosting its annual holiday celebration, Zoo Nights and Lights. This family-friendly event offers holiday spirit and fun for guests of all ages as well as a romantic setting for a date night.  This event is sure to be fun for the entire family.

Although Zoo Nights & Lights will look a little different this year, the community can still come out and enjoy the Zoo’s brilliant light displays and beautifully decorated Christmas trees from Dec.3 through Dec. 6 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. There will also be a day exclusively for Zoo members on Dec. 21.

There will be limited capacity, and additional precautions will include the following:

  • Required use of facial coverings for all guests ages 6 and up
  • A one-way path around the Zoo

We are asking the public to please be courteous and adhere to all safety distancing rules.

For safety reasons, we will not have choirs, a cookie decorating station or an arts and crafts show. However, children will receive a coupon for a free cookie from McDonald’s, and visitors will be able to cast their votes on their favorite Christmas tree, decorated by Zoo staff.

Tickets for Zoo Nights and Lights are now available online. Visit  www.gpz.org  to reserve your spot. The price is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Zoo members receive free admission on Dec. 21st. Members will need to reserve a spot for their visit online.
