The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a wind advisory for parts of the Rio Grande Valley.
The advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. today for Cameron and Willacy counties.
The NWS reports south winds of 25 to 30 mph are expected with gusts up to 35 to 40 mph.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
The NWS urges motorists to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
