Parts of Willacy County under flood advisory

The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a flood advisory for Willacy and Kenedy counties until 4:14 p.m.

Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between one and two inches of rain have
fallen in the areas of San Perlita, San Perlita High School and Willamar.

Another one to two inches of rain is expected over the area with the possibility of minor flooding.

The forecast calls for a chance of rain through Friday night.
