RAYMONDVILLE — State health officials have found 10 more Willacy County residents have tested positive for the coronavirus, pushing this rural county’s total case court to 103.
On Tuesday, officials confirmed five women, four men and a girl had contracted the COVID-19.
“The patients are currently isolated,” a press release stated.
Now, health officials are investigating to determine whether the patients infected others.
The health department “is supporting Willacy County in identifying any close contacts of the patient so they can be isolated and monitored for symptoms.”
Officials are urging residents to practice social distancing, wear facial coverings and stay home to limit exposure to the virus.
Late last month, the number of cases here stood at 14 until new cases began climbing in this rural county with a population of about 22,000 residents.
