SAN BENITO— Two males were arrested after entering a car.
The San Benito Police Department officers received a call from a resident. The caller had heard noises outside and saw two men entering her vehicle and taking items from it, according to a press release.
The caller recorded the suspects as they ran away and she called the police department. Officers saw the two suspects jumping a fence and a perimeter was set up.
Deviq Antonio Hilario was stopped and detained and with help of surrounding residents, Benito Alexis Gomez was taken into custody as well while trying to hide at a nearby residence.
Gomez received additional charge for Possession of a Controlled Substance when officers found he attempted to carry something into the patrol car.
Additional charges are pending since more burglaries were reported around the area.
