SAN BENITO — Residents will be able to have a fun and free family evening while learning about how their participation can help make an impact in their community.
A free Census Block Party will be held Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Heavin Park in San Benito.
In addition to learning about the 2020 Census, attendees will be able to listen to music and treat themselves to hotdogs and drinks.
There will also be live entertainment and a kids corner with games for children.
The event is sponsored by the City of San Benito, the San Benito Housing Authority, San Benito CISD and La Union Del Pueblo Entero (LUPE).
WHAT IS THE 2020 CENSUS?
• The 2020 Census counts every person living in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories.
• The count is mandated by the constitution and conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau.
