The Pharr Fire Department responded to a house fire early Wednesday morning which left one man dead and sent a woman to the hospital in serious condition.
Pharr Fire Chief Lenny Perez said the department responded to the blaze at 125 West Guerra after receiving the call at 1:38 a.m. this morning.
The department arrived within two minutes, knocked down the fire and searched the residence.
Perez said investigators are still at the scene combing through debris to determine what caused the fire.
Identification of the man who died is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
