Alonzo Cantu among trio appointed to UH board

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Alonzo Cantu of McAllen to the University of Houston System Board of Regents, with a term set to expire August 31, 2025.

Alonzo Cantu is CEO and president of Cantu Construction and Development Company, as well as the chairman of Lone Star National Bank and a board member of Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance. Cantu himself attended the  University of Houston, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.

Also appointed was John McCall, O.D., of Crockett. Dr. Durga Agrawal, Ph.D., of Houston, was reappointed to his position. Both McCall and Agrawal earned degrees from UH.
