Forecasters say a combination of hot temperatures and a moist atmosphere will once again create dangerous heat conditions for South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley.
A heat advisory is in effect from noon until 7 p.m. tonight for Cameron, Hidalgo, Willacy, Starr, Kenedy and Brooks counties.
The National Weather Service says heat-related illnesses may happen for anyone working or playing outdoors for extended periods of time.
Protect yourself from the heat:
- Drink plenty of water
- Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioned
- Wear loose fitting and light colored clothing
- Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles
