Downtown property tour on tap for Friday

HARLINGEN — A tour this Friday evening of available buildings in the historic downtown district will show off eight sites available for sale, lease or rent.

This event, the Imagine the Possibilities Tour, will be held concurrently with Harlingen Art Night and will last from 6 to 10 p.m.

Prospective buyers or renters will move around the district to the different properties via golf carts which the downtown district will provide.

At each building, volunteers will be on hand to give details of the building’s history and its availability.

Buildings on the tour this Friday include the Downtown Harlingen Office, San Pedro Plaza, the Ed Sokolosky Building, Bible Book Store, Baxter Lofts, the site behind Armando’s Tuxedos, Juiceology and the Old Gentry Building.

The tour is being held in conjunction with Preservation Month, the Texas Main Street Program and Town Square Initiative.

Those interested in viewing the properties should meet at 6 p.m. at 209 W. Jackson.

Also on the agenda for Harlingen Art Night is a Summer Fashion Show at Lozano Plaza across from Carlito’s Wine House. The show begins at 8:30 p.m.
