Harlingen High School assistant principal dies

Harlingen High School announced the death of assistant principal Doyle Todd. The school made the announcement on Facebook Sunday afternoon:

It is with a heavy, heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our very own, Cardinal #5 – Mr. Doyle Todd.

Mr. Todd passed away unexpectedly yesterday (Saturday) evening, after spending a beautiful day at the beach with his wife, Michele, and daughter, MaryClare.

Please keep his wife, Michele, and his three daughters (Victoria, MaryClare, and Sabrina) in your thoughts and prayers.

As soon as we hear of funeral arrangements, we will pass on this information to you.

According to the Harlingen CISD website, Todd was the HHS assistant principal for testing and accountability.

He supervised Career & Technology Education and the Art department, and was also responsible for textbooks, testing, faculty handbook, red alert team response and student discipline.

On Facebook, Harlingen Superintendent Art Cavazos said he was heart broken to learn of Doyle Todd’s death.

“The Todd Family remains in my thoughts and prayers. May God give the family the strength needed during these difficult times. He will be missed greatly. Broken-hearted.”

According to Star archives, earlier in his career Todd was an assistant principal at Nikki Rowe High School in McAllen. His wife is the principal at Wilson Elementary.
