South Speech and Debate competitors advance to national tournament

Harlingen South competed at the National Speech and Debate Qualifier in El Campo, Texas on April 26-28. There, they qualified nine students to compete in the national tournament which will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on June 17-22.

Students qualifying:

John Duncan (11) and Natalie Perez (10) in Duo Interpretation

James Gracia (12) in Program Oral Interpretation

Lucero Sauceda (11) in United States Extemporaneous Speaking

Chris Smith (12) in Informative Speaking

Lauren Ponce (10) in Dramatic Interpretation

Josh Delgado (12) in United States Extemporaneous Speaking

Christian Villarreal (11) and Ramiro Gonzalez (11) qualified for the World Schools Debate team and will be competing against teams from different countries throughout the globe.
