MERCEDES — A single vehicle rollover involving a sports utility van near Military Highway and PFC. Pedro Martinez Road left one person dead and many others in need of medical attention.
Department of Transportation Lieutenant Johnny Hernandez confirmed a man died at the accident which occurred at 2:28 p.m.
One other was air-lifted to hospital, and 13 other persons were transported to hospital by ground.
The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe traveling northbound on PFC Pedro Martinez Road at an unsafe speed, lost control and rolled over.
Authorities are still investigating the incident. Further information was unavailable at deadline.
