SAN BENITO — Break out your running shoes, it’s time to raise money for kids.
Sunny Glen Children’s Home will host its 6th Annual Incredible Kidz 5K-1 Mile Fun Run Saturday.
The annual race aims to raise funds for the children’s home to better the lives of the children it serves.
Sunny Glen Children’s Home provides a safe environment for neglected and abused children through residential care, counseling services and development programs.
According to a press release, volunteer coordinator Yolanda Saldivar said the committee in charge of the race is anticipating a successful event and expects a great turnout.
“The Incredible Kidz 5K, one-mile run is one of the fundraisers our children look forward to attending every year,” Saldivar said.
Proceeds from the event will assist the center in purchasing updated technology such as computers for the children in the program.
“This will provide our children with exposure to important tools which promote learning and skill growth that will benefit them for the rest of their lives,” Saldivar said.
Children 12 years old and younger can participate in the race for free.
