SAN BENITO — A parade of colors will make their way through the Heavin Resaca next week.
Sunday marks the beginning of Autism Awareness Month that brings recognition to the developmental disorder that affects more than 200,000 individuals a year and impairs the ability to communicate and interact.
The Family and Community Engagement department is partnering with the Special Education department to host the 11th Annual Autism Awareness Day event.
The event will include live entertainment, interactive booths with hands-on activities for students with autism to participate in.
Campuses will also take part in the second annual parade of colors that will feature signs promoting awareness of autism.
