Police: Suspects stole $7100 in electronics from Walmart stores

Port Isabel Police are searching for two suspects accused of stealing thousands of dollars in electronics from two area Walmart stores.

Port Isabel Police are searching for two suspects accused of stealing thousands of dollars in electronics from two area Walmart stores.

The first theft occurred early Monday morning at the Walmart in Port Isabel at 4100 Highway 100.

Authorities say the man and woman pried open a showcase in the electronics department. Officers reviewed a store surveillance video that captured the pair taking the merchandise valued at nearly $2,600 and then leaving without paying.

Police say the same couple then stopped at the Walmart in Los Fresnos at 1004 W. Ocean Blvd. and stole a number of electronic items costing $4,560. In all $7,151.34 in electronics were stolen.

Images captured from the surveillance video shows the pair leaving one of the stores and then driving away in a white SUV.
