Teacher charged with having improper relationship with student

BROWNSVILLE — A 24-year-old teacher from Santa Rosa is in federal custody following her arrest on a warrant charging her with having an improper relationship with a student.

Aracely Sauceda, who taught at Caldwell High School near Bryan and College Station, was taken into custody Wednesday at the Progreso International Bridge as she tried to cross back to the United States, U.S. Customs and Border Protection stated in a press release.

Authorities said a check on Sauceda indicated that she has an outstanding warrant from the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.

Media outlets report Sauceda is accused of having an improper relationship with a 16-year-old boy at the high school.

Sauceda resigned from her position and reportedly left the area.

Authorities said CBP officers at the Progreso International Bridge turned Sauceda over to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department for adjudication of the warrant.
