Incumbent District Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez is well on his way to a second term in office, having received nearly 80 percent of the early voting ballots cast.
He received 26,237 of the total 32,812 votes cast during early voting, which also includes absentee ballots.
Rene Guerra, who served as Hidalgo County District Attorney for 32 years before Rodriguez unseated him in 2014, received 6,575 votes.
