Police: Suspect uses “Let Go“ app to lure victim

Harlingen police say a robbery suspect used the social media app “Let Go“ to steal money from his victim.

According to an agency news release, the victim agreed to meet 17-year old Davian Castillo on the 1100 block of South 3rd Street to buy a gaming system after contacting him on “Let Go.“

They say when Castillo showed up just before 6 p.m. he threatened the victim with a gun and demanded the money. Once he got the money police say Castillo ran but not before firing his weapon in the direction of the victim.

Investigators identified Castillo and arrested him on Sunday. He is charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond is set at $350,000.
