HARLINGEN — It’s time to put on some pink and sign up for the 16th annual Pink Ribbon Golf Classic.
Proceeds from this event, set for Feb. 15 at Cottonwood Country Club, will stay in the Harlingen area to help fight breast cancer through the Walk for Women and the Valley Baptist Foundation’s Carolyn Fund.
Led by the Cottonwood Ladies, this annual tournament raised about $15,000 last year.
About 30 teams of four are expected to participate in the best-ball scramble. Shotgun times are 8:15 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Sign up with four golfers at the Cottonwood Pro Shop or office. You can choose a preferable tee time, but that will be first-come-first-served. If you don’t have a team, one will be set up for you.
The day is expected to be a lot of fun.
This is a way for the Cottonwood Ladies to give back to the community.
Along with the golf, there will be prizes and great silent auction items donated by local businesses.
Some of those items include merchandise baskets, golf equipment, dining certificates, purses and adult beverages.
Cash donations and hole sponsors also are available.

You don’t like to golf? Well, there’s another way to help. Come out and enjoy We Two-NZ as they play music you can’t help enjoy. The event is Saturday, Feb. 17 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Cottonwood Country Club.
A free will offering/donation for admittance and that will go to the Walk for Women and Valley Baptist Foundation’s Carolyn Fund.
